Samir R. Shah, MD, FACS, FASCRS earned his medical degree from St. Georges University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. He went on to complete his surgical residency at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey before completing clinical and research fellowships for colon and rectal surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis.
A member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, and Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, Dr. Shah is board certified with professional certifications in da Vinci® multiport surgery and neuromodulation for fecal incontinence. He has extensive surgical experience in the treatment of benign anorectal conditions, minimally invasive malignant colon and rectal pathology, transanal endoscopic microsurgery, colonoscopy and implantation of sacral nerve stimulators for fecal incontinence. His interests include colon cancer, rectal cancer with sphincter preservation, diverticulitis, inflammatory bowel disease, colonic dysmotility and pelvic floor disorders.
